Universities Classes Start from 01 June 2020

The chairman of Higher Education Commission has announced that the HEC has made the strategy for all universities to start their academic activities online for their students. Due to spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the educational institutes are affected by the closing of the institutes across Pakistan. Universities Classes Start from 01 June 2020.
The HEC has already signed an agreement with the telecom companies to provide special data bundles for the students at the affordable prices and this offer will help a lot to such students, who live in remote areas. HEC has also issued the instructions for the provision of the smart phones to such students, who do not possess the fine quality smart phones and they are absent from the online classes. The universities are asked to provide the data of the students to HEC. The government and telecom companies are addressing the issues of the poor or no connectivity in the remote areas.
Resuming Online Classes
The chairman of HEC also said that HEC is well aware of the issues, which are linked with online classes. The students may face the issues like online system, electricity, internet coverage, connectivity and faculty training. Now HEC has started the 8 step plan to address these issues of the quality and connectivity issues. The universities, which have well-built learning management system, they resume the online classes. If the universities do not have no connectivity issue and their online teaching quality is also exceptional.
There are some of the universities, which are facing the technical, technological or spatial limitations, they have been given the time to plan, train, acquire and deploy the LMS. The universities will also start their online classes from LMS from 01 June in case of extension in the lockdown due to Coronavirus outbreak. The HEC has also set up the Technical Support Committee to help the staff of the universities to adapt the online education system in their universities in order to provide online education to the students during the lockdown.
