The Learning Resource Network LRN, a British examination board, has become the first in the world to introduce artificial intelligence as a formal subject at the international GCSE and A-Level stages. The students can get fresh updates of The UK exam board has introduced AI subject in GCSE and A Level.

This groundbreaking move allows students between the ages of 14 and 19 to study AI through LRN-accredited schools and learning centers across the globe.

LRN Introduces Artificial Intelligence as Formal Subject for Students Aged 14–19

Dr. Muhammad Zohaib Tariq, the Chief Executive Officer of LRN and a British education leader of Pakistani descent, shared that the newly launched qualification is aimed at developing students knowledge of AI technologies, real-world applications, and the ethical dimensions surrounding its use.

Dr. Tariq emphasized that artificial intelligence is being treated with the same academic weight as core subjects like mathematics and physics, and that the UK is taking a leadership role in advancing AI education globally.

“With the world’s first comprehensive AI qualification at the school level, we are setting an international and empowering young learners to prepare for a future shaped by artificial intelligence,” he said.

Its also worth noting that Pakistan’s Inter Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC has recognized LRN as the third UK-based exam board—after Cambridge and Edexcel—permitted to conduct international GCSE and A-Level exams in Pakistan. Currently, over 50 educational institutions across the country are affiliated with LRN.
