UK-Based City & Guilds Board Authorized to Offer Education in Pakistan

Launch of GEMS Pathway for Academic and Vocational Certifications

As part of this initiative, the GEMS Pathway program has been launched to offer certifications equivalent to Pakistan’s Secondary School Certificate SSC and Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC, along with a range of vocational and skills-based qualifications. These credentials will hold global recognition, enabling students to pursue further studies or careers internationally.

The program was officially introduced at the “Shaping Future Pakistan” Global Skills Summit held in Karachi, which was attended by key officials including Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar, NAVTTC Chairperson Ghulmina Bilal, and IBCC Executive Director Ghulam Ali Mollah.

During the event, Minister Wajiha Qamar praised City & Guilds as a reputable international education board and welcomed its entry into Pakistan’s educational sector. IBCC Executive Director Ghulam Ali Mollah confirmed that City & Guilds is now fully authorized to operate under IBCC regulations.

Through this approval, City & Guilds will provide Skill Certificates equivalent to Intermediate and A-Level qualifications, in addition to its existing vocational certifications. While the board has previously operated in Pakistan’s vocational sector, this development marks its official expansion into general academic education in the country.
