UET Publishes ECAT 2026 Schedule for Spring Admissions Announced

University of Engineering and Technology Lahore has officially released the admission schedule for its Spring 2026 intake, highlighting the crucial Engineering College Admission Test ECAT 2026. Aspiring engineers across Punjab can now plan ahead, as the registration period opens on Monday, November 10th, 2025. ECAT 2026 Registration and Application Timeline

Candidates should take note of the important application window: registration starts November 10, 2025, and closes on Monday, December 22, 2025, at midnight. All applications must be submitted online via the official UET admissions portal admission.uet.edu.pk, simplifying the process for applicants nationwide.

Applicants are required to pay a combined fee of Rs. 5,500, which covers both the entrance test and application processing charges. This fee applies uniformly across all ECAT and non-ECAT programs. UET has emphasized that applications sent by post or courier will not be accepted, reinforcing a digital-first application process.

Admit Card Issuance and ECAT Test Dates

Once applications are successfully submitted, candidates will receive a tracking number, which is necessary to download the admit card. The admit cards for ECAT 2026 will be available starting December 30th, 2025.

The ECAT 2026 exam will be held over three days, from January 3rd to January 5th, 2026, at UET Lahore Main Campus and Faisalabad Campus. Only Spring 2026 ECAT scores will be valid for this admission cycle; previous scores will not be considered.

Special Tests and Result Announcement

In addition to the main ECAT, UET will conduct specialized tests for candidates with additional qualifications:

Hafiz-e-Quran Test: January 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM
Sports Test: January 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM

The ECAT 2026 result will be officially released on Friday evening, January 9, 2026, forming the basis for merit-based admissions.

Merit Lists and Admission Deadlines

The merit list schedule for Spring 2026 is as follows:

First Merit List: Friday, January 16, 2026; fee and document submission deadline: January 22, 2026
Second Merit List: Friday, January 23, 2026; deadline for submission: January 29, 2026

Programs and Campus Details

UET Lahore is accepting applications for Spring 2026 admissions at its Main Campus Lahore, Faisalabad Campus, and Kala Shah Kaku Campus. Only applicants domiciled in Punjab are eligible under subsidized A-1 and partially subsidized A-2 categories.

A wide variety of ECAT-based programs are offered, including Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Software Engineering. Certain programs like Business Data Analytics and Gaming & Animation are only available at the Lahore Campus. Non-ECAT programs, such as Bachelor in Information Technology, have more flexible subject requirements.

Program timing: Lahore Campus programs are conducted in the afternoon, while Faisalabad and Kala Shah Kaku programs are scheduled for the morning.

Support and Important Instructions

UET will provide application support at the National Library of Engineering Sciences, UET Lahore, from November 10 to December 22, 2025, on working days between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Candidates with equivalent foreign qualifications must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC upon selection. The university reserves the right to modify policies as needed.

Start of Spring 2026 Academic Session

The Spring 2026 semester will commence on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, for all enrolled students.
