UAE Announces Winter Holiday Schedule for Schools
The UAE Ministry of Education has confirmed that students across the country will begin their winter vacation on December 8, 2025, continuing until January 4, 2026. Winter Vacation Dates and Academic Calendar for 2025–2026
As per the approved 2025–2026 academic calendar, make-up exams are set to take place from December 8 to 12, coinciding with the student holiday, while teachers will participate in the third round of professional development training during the same period.
The second semester of the academic year is scheduled to start on January 5, 2026, with first-semester results being reviewed and released between January 7 and 9.
The academic year is structured into three semesters:
- First semester: 67 instructional days across 14 weeks
- Second semester: 47 instructional days across 9 weeks
- Third semester: 64 instructional days across 13 weeks, including five official UAE holidays
In total, the 2025–2026 school year will include approximately 178 instructional days, concluding no earlier than June 26, 2026. This schedule is designed to provide sufficient time for exams, teacher training, and holidays while ensuring a complete academic year for students and staff.
