UAE Announces Final Exam Schedule for First Academic Term 2025–2026

The UAE Ministry of Education has officially announced the final exam schedule for the first term of the 2025–2026 academic year. The schedule applies to students from grades 3 to 12 in both public and private schools that follow the ministry’s national curriculum. According to the timetable, Group A subjects—which include the main academic courses—will be held from Thursday, November 20, to December 4, with a break during the Eid Al Etihad holidays. Schools are required to finalize assessment records for Group B subjects by November 14, before written exams begin.

The Ministry has also shared comprehensive exam guidelines, covering exam formats, supervision protocols, electronic device usage, and calculator regulations. Students in grades 3 and 4 will take paper-based exams in person, while grade 5 students across all tracks will also sit for paper exams. For grade 12, English exams will be conducted electronically.

Teachers are not permitted to read exam questions aloud, except in grade 3, where they may read the questions but not the answers. Students taking electronic exams must bring their own laptops, and assessments for grades 6 to 12 will vary between paper-based and electronic formats, depending on the subject and study track.

For grade 12, students in general and advanced tracks studying at private institutions will sit for their exams in public school venues, under the supervision of the School Operations Department. During the chemistry exam, printed periodic tables must be provided by schools; however, elite track students are required to use the electronic periodic table available through the Swift Assess platform on the Ministry’s Education Media Portal.

Calculator use will be strictly monitored. In science subjects—physics, chemistry, biology, and health sciences—students from grades 6 to 12 across all tracks may use scientific calculators. For mathematics, rules differ by track:

In general and advanced tracks, calculators are not allowed for grades 6–9, but are permitted for higher grades.

In the elite track, both scientific and graphical calculators are allowed.

In the applied track, students must use graphical calculators.

The ministry stressed that all schools must strictly follow the official instructions without any modifications. Exams will be held under the direct supervision of the School Operations Department to maintain consistent academic standards nationwide.

Strict rules regarding electronic devices will also be enforced—only approved tools are allowed, and unauthorized smart devices are strictly banned to ensure exam integrity.

For grade 12 students across all streams—general, advanced, elite, and applied—the exams will begin on November 20 with Physics or Applied Science for the applied track. On November 21, applied track students will take Applied Mathematics, while other tracks will appear in Chemistry. Mathematics is scheduled for November 24, followed by English on November 25, then Arabic, Islamic Education, and Biology, with Social Studies marking the final exam on December 4.
