Summer Vacations Extended in Sialkot Educational Institutions
Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot has announced the extension of summer vacations in all educational institutions across the district after severe flooding left several school premises waterlogged. According to the official notification, both public and private schools will remain closed from September 1 to September 5, 2025, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff. Decision Taken on Punjab Education Department’s Instructions
The closure order was issued following the directions of the Punjab School Education Department after reports of stagnant water in multiple schools. The decision was formally communicated to the Commissioner of Gujranwala Division, the CEO Education Sialkot, the Deputy Director Colleges Sialkot, and the Section Officer ACAD-I of the Punjab School Education Department.
Preventive Measures for Health and Safety
Authorities stated that the step was necessary to avoid potential health and safety risks while cleanup and rehabilitation operations continue in flood-affected areas. Heads of all public and private schools in Sialkot have been instructed to strictly comply with the orders and ensure that campuses are properly inspected and made safe before reopening.
