Summer Vacation 2025 Extended in Punjab?
The Punjab School Education Department has firmly denied a false notification spreading across social media, which claimed that summer vacations for all public and private schools in the province have been extended until August 31, 2025. The misleading document, which quickly gained traction online, suggested that schools would remain closed due to ongoing extreme weather conditions. However, the department has declared the notification as completely FAKE and warned the public against believing or sharing unauthenticated news.
No Official Decision Yet on School Reopening Amid Heatwave Concerns
To clarify the matter, the department shared the same forged notice on its official Facebook page, stamped with a prominent “FAKE” watermark. They reiterated that no formal decision has been made regarding any extension of the summer holidays.
Despite the clarification, uncertainty persists about the exact reopening date for schools. While the scheduled end of the summer break approaches, the government has not issued a final announcement on whether schools will resume on August 15 as originally planned.
According to a report from a private news outlet citing internal sources, there is an ongoing discussion within the department about possibly extending the summer vacation to August 31, due to the continued high temperatures. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that the proposal is under review, and a formal decision will be made public once consultations conclude.
Although some areas have experienced occasional rainfall, much of Punjab continues to face intense heat and humidity. The final call on school reopening will be based on weather developments in the coming days.
