Step by Step Guide to Apply for First Year College Admission in Sindh
The Government of Sindh has officially announced the admission schedule for first-year intermediate classes for the academic year 2025–26. Students aiming to take admission in government colleges across the province — including 154 institutions in Karachi — must follow the centralized application process introduced by the College Education Department. SECCAP Online Portal Open for Intermediate Admissions – Deadline Set for July 15
More than 100,000 students are expected to apply in Karachi under the new centralized and merit-based system.
How to Apply:
All applications must be submitted online through the Sindh Electronic Centralized College Admission Program SECCAP portal. Note: Admissions will be granted based solely on marks obtained in the 9th-grade exams.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Students with A1 or A grades are eligible to apply to *any* government college in Karachi, regardless of their residential area.
- Students with B, C, D, or E grades can only apply to colleges within their local residential zones, as per the College Education Department’s placement policy.
Important Dates:
- Application Window: Opens on June 15 and closes on July 15.
- Class Commencement:
- Second-year classes begin on August 1
- First-year classes commence on August 5, as per Director General of Colleges Sindh, Dr. Naveed Rab.
Applicants are advised to complete their online submissions well before the deadline to ensure smooth processing and maximum placement opportunities under the SECCAP system.
