Single National Curriculum From Class 1 To 5

The Punjab Text Book Board PTBB has designed the Single National Curriculum SNS on the directions of Education Ministry. The Board has designed and issued 30 books for primary class 1 to 5. The printing process is going on to complete the printing of all books. According to reports, the Government plans to implement the Single National Curriculum at the start of the new academic session.

At the direction of Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training issued a notification to all provincial and regional governments regarding the textbook policy for a single national curriculum. According to the policy, private publishers may produce these books as long as they meet the government's stated student learning objectives. To do so, they will need NOCs from private publishers issued by the provincial textbook board. The board will ensure that any controversial subjects are discussed in the textbooks as well.

The ministry will ensure the issuance of textbooks for grades six to eight in the coming years. However, the government has taken a drastic step, but the majority of the people are unhappy with the decision, as time and implementation were short. The decision will affect many businesses and schools, and some publishers will suffer.
