Sindh Suspends Salaries for Over 1000 Absent Teachers
A recent report submitted by the Scrutiny Committee to the Sindh education secretary has revealed that more than 1,000 teachers in the province have been absent from their duties Schools and Colleges. The committee was established to investigate complaints about ghost teachers, which had been a growing concern in Sindh. Provincial Authorities Take Action Against Absentee Teachers
Following the findings of the investigation, the education secretary has directed all district education officers DEOs to stop the salaries of these teachers immediately. The education department has issued formal notifications to enforce this decision, ensuring that teachers who are absent from their posts without authorization no longer receive payment.
Previous Dismissals of Teachers Living Abroad
This is not the first time the Sindh education department has taken action against ghost teachers. Earlier, the department dismissed eight teachers who had been living abroad for two years while still drawing their salaries.
