Students across multiple districts in Sindh staged protests following the announcement of Class IX and XI results prepared through the newly introduced e-marking system. Discontent with E-Marking System
The BISESBA, along with BISE Sukkur and BISE Larkana divisions, implemented e-marking for SSC Part One and HSC Part One results, announced recently. While Chairman Dr. Asif Ali Memon hailed the automated system as a major achievement, many students expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that the system unfairly affected their results.
Protests in Sanghar and Allegations of Corruption
In Sanghar, students from Pir Syed Sabghatullah Shah Shaheed Government Degree College boycotted classes and marched through the streets. Protesters, including Abdul Jabbar Mari, Abdul Rahman Laghari, Siraj Wassan, and Farhan Laghari, said their marks did not reflect their consistent performance in internal assessments. They warned that the results could harm their chances of university admission and accused the board of using students to test the new system. Allegations of corruption and bribery influencing the evaluation process were also raised, with calls for the immediate removal of the board chairman and controller and a rechecking of answer scripts.
Protests Across Other Districts
In Shahdadpur, students from Govt Boys Degree College, led by Nasir Khuso, Younus Sanjrani, and Roshan Khaskheli, rallied outside the press club, claiming that high-performing students received unexpectedly low marks. In Sakrand, hundreds of students marched from Govt Degree College Sakrand to Sahafi Chowk, demanding transparency and re-evaluation. Students and teachers from Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Panhal Khan Chandio, also held a rally at the MPA House, insisting that the board chairman personally supervise the rechecking process.
Appeals for Reform and Transparency
In Shahpur Chakar, students marched to the local press club, accusing the board of intentionally awarding low marks to hinder higher education opportunities. The protests, which lasted several hours, gained support from civil society members and educators, who called the students’ concerns legitimate. They urged immediate reforms in the evaluation system and appealed to the Sindh Chief Minister, Education Minister, and senior officials to ensure rechecking of all answer scripts and maintain transparency in the marking process.
