Sindh Probes Massive Fake Matric Certificate Scam in BISE

Sindh Probes Massive Fake Matric Certificate Scam in BISE

The Sindh government has launched a high-level investigation into a staggering education board scandal involving the issuance of thousands of fake matric certificates. The scam, centered at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education BISE Mirpurkhas, has sent shockwaves through the provinces academic and administrative sectors.

According to official reports, the Sindh education scam surfaced after the Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested several junior officials. These individuals reportedly confessed to a systematic racket that operated between 2021 and 2025. During this period, board employees allegedly issued fraudulent secondary school certificates in exchange for heavy bribes, ranging from PKR 50,000 to PKR 500,000.

Identity Fraud and National Security Concerns
The investigation has revealed a more concerning dimension: many of these fake matriculation degrees were issued to Afghan nationals. These documents were reportedly used as a primary requirement to bypass legal hurdles and obtain Pakistani CNICs and domicile certificates. This revelation has turned a case of academic malpractice into a significant national security concern.

Government Response and Suspensions
Taking strict notice of the BISE Mirpurkhas corruption, Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahu, ordered the immediate formation of a three-member inquiry committee. The committee is headed by Professor Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor of Sindh University.

In a decisive move to ensure a transparent Sindh board inquiry, authorities have already suspended several high-ranking officials, including:

  • Azam Khan IT Manager
  • Muhammad Shahid Superintendent, HSC Secretariat
  • Anwar Aleem Khanzada Controller of Examinations - previously suspended

Restoring Merit in the Education System
Minister Rahu emphasized that "forgery and violation of merit in educational institutions will not be tolerated." The committee has been given a one-month deadline to submit its final report, identify systemic weaknesses, and recommend criminal proceedings against all involved parties, including any facilitating politicians or bureaucrats.

This fake degree crackdown aims to restore the credibility of the Sindh examination system. As the probe expands, more arrests are expected, highlighting the provincial government’s commitment to cleaning up corruption within the education sector and ensuring that only genuine students are rewarded for their hard work.
