Sindh Introduces Paid Internship Program for University Students
The Interim Government of Sindh has unveiled plans to roll out a paid internship initiative designed specifically for 200 students currently enrolled in public sector universities. This commendable effort, spearheaded by the Provincial Department of Human Rights, is geared towards providing invaluable learning opportunities to the youth of the region. In a recent meeting with officials from the Department of Human Rights, Barrister Omer Soomro, the Caretaker Law Minister, shed light on the programs key objectives. He emphasized that the initiative would primarily focus on students pursuing studies in the fields of law and social sciences, with the aim of cultivating a deeper understanding of these disciplines.
The scope of these internship opportunities will encompass students residing in various divisions, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, and Shaheed Benazirabad. The Law Minister further announced that a formal proposal for the programs implementation would soon be presented to the Interim Chief Minister CM for consideration and approval.
Upon successful selection, participating students will receive a generous monthly stipend of Rs.25,000 each, rendering this program an attractive prospect for those who are enthusiastic about contributing to the advancement of human rights causes. Furthermore, upon completing their internships, participants will have the privilege of attending events dedicated to addressing a wide range of critical human rights issues. This additional exposure will serve to enrich their knowledge and deepen their involvement in this crucial field.
