Sindh Inter Exams Delayed Due to Heatwave




The Sindh government has decided to postpone intermediate exams across the province by five days due to the prevailing heatwave conditions. This decision comes after a proposal by provincial Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani was endorsed by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Postponement Details:

Originally scheduled to commence on May 22, the intermediate exams will now begin on May 27. The directive to delay the exams was issued by CM Shah, with the Universities and Boards Department promptly adjusting the exam schedule accordingly.


Heatwave Situation in Sindh:

Parts of Sindh, including Karachi, have been enduring intense heat for several weeks. The temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting the likelihood of multiple heatwaves affecting various cities nationwide over the next month.


Forecast and Advisory:

An advisory has cautioned about upcoming heatwave conditions, particularly in Punjab and Sindh starting from May 21. High atmospheric pressure is anticipated to intensify temperatures, with daytime highs projected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal from May 21 to 23, and 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal from May 23 to 27 in these regions.


Nationwide Temperature Outlook:

In other parts of the country such as Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan, daytime temperatures are also anticipated to remain significantly above normal, ranging from 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than usual throughout the period from May 21 to 27.
