Court Questions Actions on Earlier Directive

During the hearing, the court addressed the committee responsible for investigating the irregularities. It had previously instructed the formation of this committee and inquired about its progress. The committees chairperson, Shireen Narejo, presented a report outlining their findings, and the court reiterated that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC and Dow University were primarily responsible for ensuring the exams integrity.

Committee Report Highlights Flaws

Shireen Narejo informed the court that the committee had thoroughly reviewed Dow Universitys examination procedures and assessed statements from petitioners. The report revealed that there were significant flaws in the system, with around 40-42 individuals involved in various stages of the exam process. The committees investigation also took into account feedback from students, some of whom opposed a retake of the exam.

Evidence of Leaked Exam Questions

The court expressed concern about potential compromises in the exam mechanism and asked whether there had been any leaks. Shireen Narejo confirmed that questions and answers from the MDCAT Re conduct Date 2024 had circulated on WhatsApp, indicating a serious breach in exam security.

Court Orders Retake Based on Investigation

With evidence of irregularities and compromised processes, the court ruled in favor of a retake. This decision is expected to provide a fair chance for all candidates seeking admission to medical and dental programs across the province.
