Sindh Health Minister Demands MDCAT Test on Provincial Level
Pakistan Medical Commission manages the admissions of the candidates in all medical and dental colleges all over the country and PMC makes the arrangements for MDCAT test in order to settle the eligibility criteria of the students. The candidates, who pass the National MDCAT test with good marks, they are considered for admission in the medical and dental colleges. Now Sindh Health Minister demands that PMC may authorize the provincial government of Sindh to manage their MDCAT test of the medical and dental colleges of Sindh Province at the provincial level. The Sindh Health Minister said that there are many irregularities in the MDCAT test 2020 result. Sindh High Court has also issued the orders to PMC to form the national syllabus for MDCAT by taking in view the curriculum of all provincial boards. The education and information minister of Sindh raised the objections against PMC. Sindh Health Minister also said that there should be another entry test besides national MDCAT, which will be taken at the provincial level. Other provinces also raised their objections and showed their concerns about the entrance test being conducted by PMC. The provincial government is also going to form Sindh Medical and Dental Council in order to conduct the medical entrance exams of the candidates at the provincial level. According to 18th amendment, the provinces can start their admission tests in MBBS and BDS programs and Sindh government has already conducted the medical and dental colleges admission tests with transparency.
