Sindh Govt to Revise Intermediate Syllabus

Hyderabad, The Sindh government has announced a major initiative to revise the intermediate syllabus and introduce daily library classes across all public colleges in the Hyderabad region. The move aims to improve educational quality, align studies with modern academic standards, and revive students’ interest in reading and research.
The decision was finalized in a high-level meeting chaired by Secretary of Colleges Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon. Attendees included DG Colleges Dr. Navaid Rab Siddiqui, Regional Director Colleges Hyderabad Mustafa Kamal, and several college principals.
New Curriculum to Match Modern Demands
The updated curriculum will be redesigned to meet contemporary academic and professional needs. Officials emphasized that the changes will not only enhance classroom learning but also encourage critical thinking and analytical skills among students.
The secretary highlighted that daily library sessions will strengthen students’ vocabulary, research capabilities, and reading comprehension — skills essential for both academic success and future careers.
Over 100,000 Students to Benefit
Data shared during the meeting revealed that 104,326 students are currently enrolled in 72 government colleges across the Hyderabad division. All these institutions will adopt the revised syllabus and participate in the new library program starting in the upcoming academic session.
Rehabilitation of Damaged Colleges
Secretary Memon also directed the Education Works Department to restore damaged classrooms, boundary walls, and facilities in 12 rain-affected colleges. He stressed that learning environments must remain safe, and no student should face disruption due to infrastructure issues.
Sports & Co-Curricular Activities Revived
To ensure holistic student development, the Colleges Department will organize an Inter-College Sports Week in December 2025. The event aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and engagement among students.
