Sindh Government Approves New College Admission Policy for 2025

Sindh Government Approves New College Admission Policy for 2025

The College Education Department of Sindh has introduced a new admissions framework for government colleges under the Sindh Electronic Centralized College Admission Programme SECCAP, allowing students to apply for Class XI based on their Class IX exam scores for the 2025–2026 academic session. The students can get latest updates of Sindh Introduces Revised Admission Process for First-Year College Students.

An official notice released on Friday provides the complete admission timeline and guidelines. Prospective students can submit their online applications through the SECCAP portal starting June 15, 2025. The application period will close on July 15, with placement lists for all academic categories scheduled for release by July 22. Classes for Class XII are set to commence on August 1, while Class XI classes will begin on August 5.

Class IX Results to Determine Eligibility for 2025-26 College Admissions

The notification confirms the continuation of the College Zone System for Karachi, under which students are generally assigned to colleges within their residential zones. However, those achieving A+ or A grades will be granted the flexibility to apply to any college of their preference. Students with grades ranging from B to E will remain restricted to their respective zones.

Regional Directors in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana will manage the admissions locally, while the Director General of Colleges, Sindh, will oversee the process across the province.

Admissions will rely on the students’ Class IX or O-Level Part-I marks. The IT team of the Directorate General of Colleges will generate placement lists by gender and faculty, subject to final approval from the SECCAP Committee Chairman for 2025–26.

To assist students after the placement lists are published, dedicated grievance centers will be established across Sindh for both male and female applicants.

Students previously enrolled in HSC or FSC who wish to reapply must first cancel their prior board registration and SECCAP admission before submitting a new application for the 2025-26 academic year. Moreover, individuals who have experienced a gap of more than five years since their last enrollment will not be eligible for admission under this year’s policy.
