Sindh Extends Summer Vacations for Colleges
Sindh College Education Department has announced an extension of summer vacations due to the persistent heatwave and anticipated rainfall. A formal notification has been issued to confirm this extension. The students can check fresh updates of Sindh Extends Summer Vacations for Colleges.
New Academic Session Start Date
According to the notification, the new academic session for colleges in Sindh will now commence on August 15. Extending the holidays until August 14 allows students and staff extra time off in light of the extreme weather conditions.
Previous Extension and Current Reasons
Previously, the Sindh Education Department had already extended the summer break until August 14 due to the ongoing heatwave and expected heavy rains.
Independence Day Celebrations
The notification also included plans for August 14, highlighting that schools and private institutions are encouraged to organize Independence Day events to celebrate with enthusiasm.
Flash Flood Alerts
Earlier, the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities PDMA of Punjab and Sindh issued alerts warning about potential flash floods in various cities across both provinces. PDMA Sindh specifically cautioned that the anticipated rainfall might result in flash or urban flooding in municipalities, local nullahs, streams, and river tributaries.
