Sindh Confirms 2026 Matric & Inter Exam Schedule

Sindh Education Department has officially confirmed the Exam timetable for the 2026 matriculation and intermediate exams across Karachi and other parts of the province. The decision was taken during a Steering Committee meeting chaired by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah. According to the approved schedule, the annual matric Exams for Classes IX and X will begin on March 31, after the Eid holidays. Meanwhile, the intermediate annual Exams are set to commence on April 15. The committee also decided that the new academic year for 2026–27 will officially start on April 1. In addition, matriculation results are scheduled to be declared on June 1, while intermediate results will be announced on June 15. During the meeting, it was further decided that the implementation of the Uniform Exam Syllabus will be delayed. The updated syllabus will now be enforced for Classes IX and X starting from the 2027 annual Exams. The committee also agreed to continue with the current schedule for summer and winter vacations. Summer holidays will take place from June 1 to July 31, whereas winter break will remain from December 22 to December 31. Officials clarified that any change to the winter vacation period would require another meeting in April. Although a proposal to modify winter holidays was discussed, representatives from Cambridge-affiliated schools opposed altering their academic calendar due to its coordination with international schedules. As a result, the proposal was withdrawn.
