Sindh Announces Second Phase of People’s IT Program

The Sindh government has officially rolled out the second phase of its renowned Peoples IT Programme PITP, a bold initiative aimed at enhancing the digital capabilities of the province’s young population. With a robust funding package of Rs 1.4 billion, the program is designed to prepare youth for success in the fast-paced, tech-oriented global economy. Sindhs Provincial Information Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, referred to the PITP as a “flagship digital training model” and emphasized its vital role in integrating the youth into the global digital workforce. This second phase follows a strong precedent. In its first phase, the PITP successfully trained 13,565 students in various advanced IT disciplines. To recognize outstanding achievements, the top 300 performers were awarded laptops and Google Chromebooks—demonstrating the government’s support for excellence in education and skill development.

The proven impact of the first phase has created a solid foundation for this expanded rollout, with broader goals and an increased number of participants in Phase II.

Phase II significantly broadens the programs scope, aiming to train 35,000 students across Sindh. This increase reflects the government’s dedication to widespread digital inclusion and skill enhancement.

A key component of this phase is its targeted training in 12 high-demand digital technologies.
