Sialkot Schools Closed Until September 10
Authorities in Sialkot have announced the closure of 80 government schools after floodwaters entered several areas, disrupting educational activities. The decision was taken to ensure student safety, with schools now scheduled to remain shut until September 10, 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali confirmed that a number of school buildings are still surrounded by floodwater, making it unsafe to resume classes. Acting on a directive from the School Education Department, the district administration moved quickly to suspend operations across affected institutions.
Schools Closed in Multiple Areas
In Tehsil Sialkot, educational activities will remain suspended from September 8 to 10. Similarly, schools in Daska, Pasrur, and Sambrial have also been ordered to stay closed until conditions improve.
Student Safety Comes First
Officials stressed that the decision was made keeping the safety of children as the top priority. Floodwater has damaged access routes and compromised the surroundings of several school buildings. The administration has assured parents that regular classes will resume once the environment is declared safe.
The closure is expected to impact thousands of students preparing for their upcoming academic schedule. However, authorities stated that alternative arrangements, including adjusted timetables, will be considered once schools reopen.
