SHC Postpone MDCAT Exams Till Syllabus Is Confirmed
In a recent hearing as a result of campaign started a human rights activist and lawyer, Mohammad Jibran Nasir, who challenged the MDCAT examination in the court. In a proceeding of Sindh High Court, the decision was taken for the MDCAT 2020. According to details The SHC gave direction to the Pakistan Medical Commission PMDC to form an academic board and examination authority for confirm the MDCAT syllabus.
The SHC said:
“The powers to formulate the examination structure and standards for the MDCAT for approval of the Council”
According to remarks of the SHC, the National Medical & Dental Academic Board had not been formed under the Pakistan Medical Commission PMC Act 2020, it cannot conduct the MDCAT examination.
Students who are already registered for the examination were worried about their fees. However, the PMC clarified their concern in a tweet soon after the court order was passed.
“All students who registered for the MDCAT by 6th November shall be allowed to sit in the MDCAT with their existing registration and admit card/roll number slips, which have been issued to them,”
Remember that the MDCAT Test 2020 was decided to be conducted on 15 November 2020. But many students were not ready and complained for the insufficient preparation time and due to because of constant change of syllabus.
