Schools Closed in Murree Amid Torrential Rains
The Murree administration has ordered the closure of all schools for two days following continuous heavy rainfall in the region. As per the CEO of the District Education Authority, educational institutions will remain closed on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20. The intense downpour has led to rivers and canals overflowing, while areas such as Kahuta GPO Chowk and Mall Road have been submerged. Landslides in Galiyat have further worsened the situation, blocking the main highway between Murree and Abbottabad.
Educational Activities Suspended Due to Weather Emergency
Authorities have also warned of a possible cloudburst. Alerts have been issued to both locals and tourists, advising strict caution. The Deputy Commissioner of Murree has instructed residents to avoid rivers and canals, as heavy rains are expected to persist over the next 24 to 48 hours.
The situation remains serious, and citizens are urged to stay updated with official weather alerts and comply with safety measures provided by the administration.
