Schools and Colleges in Sindh Declare Holiday for Youm-e-Ali on April 12th

The Government of Sindh has declared that all schools and colleges in the province will remain closed on April 12, 2022, in honor of Youm-e-Ali, a religious observance commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali RA on the 21st day of Ramadan. The announcement was made through a notification issued by the provincial government on Friday.

According to the notification, the decision was made in compliance with the Steering Committees decision made on February 22, 2022. The College Education Department has been directed to ensure the closure of all public and private educational institutions under its jurisdiction on the aforementioned date.

The closure of schools and colleges on Youm-e-Ali is a common practice in many parts of Pakistan, and it is observed with great reverence and solemnity. The day is marked by processions and gatherings across the country, where people pay homage to Hazrat Ali RA, who is revered as one of the most important figures in Islamic history.

The closure of educational institutions is intended to allow students and teachers to participate in religious observances and to facilitate the smooth conduct of processions and gatherings without causing any disruption to academic activities.

Overall, the decision to close schools and colleges on Youm-e-Ali reflects the importance of religious observances in Pakistani society and the governments commitment to respecting the sentiments of the people.
