Salary Increase Announced for Certain School Teachers in Punjab
The Punjab Education Foundation PEF and the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority PEIMA have introduced a major pay increase for teachers working in affiliated partner schools, setting their monthly salary at a fixed amount of Rs. 20,000. This new pay scale will also be applicable during the summer vacation period. The students can check the fresh updates of Salary Increase Announced for Certain School Teachers in Punjab.
Previously, these teachers earned between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 8,000 per month, and often did not receive any salary during school holidays. In response, the School Education Department has now issued official instructions mandating uninterrupted monthly payments of Rs. 20,000 throughout the year, including during breaks.
Fixed Monthly Salary of Rs. 20,000 Announced for Teachers at Partner Schools
To ensure enforcement, PEF will carry out inspections at partner schools even during vacations. Any delay or failure to pay the full salary could result in penalties or termination of the schools partnership status. Additionally, schools are required to keep digital records of all salary payments for transparency.
Currently, there are over 10,000 PEF and PEIMA-affiliated schools across Punjab, collectively employing more than 30,000 teachers. This new policy aims to enhance financial security for educators and uphold their rights regardless of school schedules.
