Revised School Timings in Punjab Starting February 1 2024
In an official announcement by the provincial education department, all schools in Punjab will resume regular operating hours from February 1, 2024, signaling the conclusion of the extended winter timings that were in effect until January 31. The students can get the latest updates of their Revised School Timings in Punjab Starting February 1, 2024.
Winter Timings Extension:
Earlier this month, the education department had extended the winter timings for both public and private schools across the province until January 31, 2024. The revised schedule required schools to operate on weekdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and on Fridays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Reversion to Regular Schedule:
As of February 1, 2024, schools will revert to their standard schedules. Last year, the provincial education department had previously adjusted the timings for public and private schools in Lahore during the winter season.
Previous Winter Timings:
Under the extended winter timings until January 31, boys schools in Lahore were open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Thursday and Saturday and without any break on Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm. Girls schools operated from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm Monday to Thursday and Saturday and closed at 12:00 pm every Friday.
Potential School Closures:
Social media reports suggest the possibility of nationwide school closures for over a week due to the upcoming General Election scheduled for February 8. If these reports are accurate, educational institutions may close on Sunday, February 4, and for Kashmir Day on February 5, remaining closed during the election period from February 6 to 10. Following this, institutions are expected to stay closed on Sunday, February 11, and reopen on February 12.
