Revamping Academic Assessment Punjab New Exam Policy
The Punjab government has officially announced a transformative shift in its educational assessment framework. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has introduced a strategic new paper-checking policy designed to enhance the integrity and efficiency of the provinces Exam system. Central to this directive is the inclusion of intern teachers and qualified university graduates in critical roles, such as invigilation duties and the assessment of Exam scripts. By broadening the workforce responsible for these academic processes, the government aims to professionalize and streamline how student performance is evaluated across educational institutions in Punjab.
Capacity Building and Future Implementation
To ensure the highest standards of academic rigor, this initiative will commence in the upcoming Punjab Boards SSC & GSSC Exam 2026 session. The Punjab government recognizes that maintaining quality requires expertise; therefore, all newly eligible personnel, including School Teacher Interns STIs, will undergo comprehensive professional training programs before assuming their responsibilities. This move is a direct response to the recent decision to prohibit private teachers from participating in Exam-related activities.
By diversifying the pool of trained staff, the province is not only filling a void left by the exclusion of private practitioners but is also fostering a more robust, government-regulated ecosystem. This proactive approach to education reform in Punjab is expected to build a more sustainable and reliable system for managing academic assessments, ultimately benefiting the entire student body and improving the credibility of the provincial Exam boards.
