Deadline for Compliance and Strict Action for Violations

DEA Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Tariq warned that any school failing to follow the new safety guidelines will face strict action. Private school administrations have been instructed to complete all required security arrangements within two days and submit compliance reports within the specified timeframe.

Mandatory Physical and Technological Security Requirements

Under the updated safety SOPs, schools must build boundary walls at least eight feet high, with an additional two feet of barbed wire on top. Institutions are also required to install CCTV cameras with reliable backup systems, including UPS support, to ensure uninterrupted monitoring. Full CCTV coverage inside and outside school premises is mandatory.

Enhanced Security Staff and Equipment

Schools must maintain a functional control room, install operational metal detectors, and employ verified security guards wearing proper uniforms and carrying authorized weapons. These measures aim to strengthen on-site security and maintain a safe environment for all.

Visitor Management and Emergency Preparedness

Schools are required to keep a visitors’ register at all entry points and prominently display emergency contact numbers. They must also place visible security instruction posters, clearly mark emergency exits, and conduct regular safety drills to prepare for emergencies.

Zero Tolerance Policy on Student Safety

CEO Muhammad Tariq stressed that authorities will adopt a zero-tolerance approach to any negligence affecting student safety. He instructed school owners and principals to implement all SOPs immediately, cautioning that any violations will lead to strict legal consequences.
