Punjab University Undergraduate Entry Test 2026 Registration

The University of the Punjab PU has officially launched the first phase of its undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2026-27. In a significant move to maintain academic excellence, the university has announced that the PU entry test is now mandatory for all applicants seeking admission to various BS programs. Prospective students can now begin the online registration process to secure their spot in the upcoming entrance evaluation.

Mandatory Entry Test Registration

According to the official PU spokesperson, the entrance exam is a compulsory requirement for all undergraduate disciplines. The university aims to streamline the selection process by conducting standardized tests across seven different academic categories.

Registration Deadline: Candidates must complete their online applications by May 25, 2026.
Test Date: The entrance exam is tentatively scheduled to take place on June 14, 2026.
Merit Weightage: The written test will hold a 25% weightage in the final merit calculation for admission.
Test Centers: To facilitate students nationwide, the examination will be conducted in major cities across Pakistan.

Diverse Test Categories for All Streams

To cater to the diverse academic backgrounds of applicants, the Punjab University Admission Test is divided into seven specific streams. Each student must choose the category that aligns with their previous qualification:

PU-E: Pre-Engineering
PU-M: Pre-Medical
PU-AHS: Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
PU-CSP: ICS with Physics combination
PU-CSS: ICS with Statistics combination
PU-GS: General Science
PU-COM: Commerce

Step-by-Step Application Guide

Eligible candidates, including those who have completed their HSSC Intermediate or are currently awaiting results, can follow these steps to register:

Online Portal: Visit the official PU Admission Portal to create a profile and fill out the form.
Fee Payment: A non-refundable registration fee of PKR 2,500 must be paid at any branch of HBL, UBL, or via 1Bill mobile banking.
Document Upload: Applicants are required to upload a clear image of their proof of payment challan to complete the process.
Special Requirements: For LLB programs, qualifying both the Law Admission Test LAT and the PU Entry Test is mandatory.

Important Note for Engineering and Pharmacy

For those applying to Engineering programs, PU recognizes E-CAT UET or NUST test scores alongside its own entrance exam. Similarly, MDCAT scores are valid for admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy Pharm-D program.
