Punjab Summer Vacation Schedule for 2026
The School Education Department of Punjab has officially released the schedule for summer holidays 2026 for all public and private educational institutions across the province. In response to the intensifying heatwave and to ensure the well-being of students, the provincial government, PSED has implemented a comprehensive summer break to safeguard the health of our youth against extreme weather conditions.
Academic Calendar and Reopening Details
The Punjab summer vacation period officially commenced on May 22, 2026. According to the government’s notification, schools will remain closed throughout the summer months, with the academic session scheduled to resume on August 24, 2026. This extended break, spanning over three months, was strategically planned to shield students from the peak heat, ensuring that they can return to a safe and productive learning environment once temperatures stabilize.
Compliance and Guidelines for Educational Institutions
This notification is binding for all private and public schools in Punjab. School administrators and faculty are advised to utilize this period for any necessary institutional maintenance or administrative planning, ensuring a smooth transition when the academic cycle recommences.
