Punjab Strengthens Security Measures in Schools and Public Areas
The Chief Minister of Punjab has ordered the installation of digital surveillance cameras outside all schools and educational institutions throughout the province to improve safety. She emphasized that CCTV monitoring, security personnel, and entry checks must be implemented at every educational facility. Mock Drills and Staff Registration
Police teams have been instructed to conduct mock security exercises in collaboration with the School Education Department. Additionally, the provincial government will register all drivers and staff of buses operating between Punjab and other provinces to enhance safety measures.
Coordination with Law Enforcement Agencies
The Chief Minister directed Punjab Police and other law enforcement agencies to work closely with the Motorway Police to enforce broader security protocols. Officials have also been asked to increase digital monitoring in public parks to ensure public safety.
Upgrading Surveillance Systems Across the Province
The Safe Cities Authority has been tasked with reviewing the performance of existing surveillance cameras and guaranteeing full CCTV coverage in major cities such as Lahore and Rawalpindi. Authorities are also instructed to connect cameras from private residences and commercial areas to the Safe Cities network to help track criminal activities more effectively.
Comprehensive Monitoring of Public Spaces
Officials have been ordered to ensure that all significant public spaces in Punjab remain under continuous digital surveillance to provide a secure environment for citizens.
