Punjab Schools Face Confusion Over New Winter Timings
Widespread confusion gripped Punjab’s education system on Thursday following conflicting messages about winter school timings, leaving students, parents, and teachers uncertain about the updated schedules. Earlier, district education authorities DEAs across Punjab issued notifications announcing revised winter timings, including new reporting hours for both students and teachers. However, by the evening, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat contradicted these announcements on social media, stating that the School Education Department SED had not issued any official notification regarding winter timings.
Conflicting Announcements Leave Schools in Punjab Unsure About Winter Schedule
The minister’s statement immediately created uncertainty, as many schools had already received the new schedules from district offices. Teachers and parents were left questioning whether the district-issued timings remained valid or had been overridden by the minister’s clarification.
The public has criticized the annual mismanagement of school timing changes during winter, pointing to a lack of proper coordination between provincial authorities and district administrations. This recurring confusion has caused frustration among all stakeholders in the education system.
