Punjab Schools & Colleges New Timings During Severe Heatwave
The Health Department of Punjab has issued advisory to give the information about the coming severe heatwave in the province. The main purpose of this advisory is to ensure the safety and protection of the students from this heatwave, which has gripped the entire country.
According to Punjab Schools & Colleges New Timings During Severe Heatwave, the government has decided to change the schools and colleges opening and closing timings other than the normal timings, which are recommended to save the students from heat. The health department has also asked the schools and colleges not to avail the sports period till the end of the heatwave. The students should be restricted to their classrooms and they should have proper ventilation.
The emergency help desks should be set up in the schools and colleges to ensure provision of services in case of emergency and students should remain hydrated the whole day. The help desks will provide first aid to the students, who are affected by this heat wave. The students should also avoid going in the open sun, which can cause heat stroke.
Pakistan Meteorological department warned the people that this severe heat wave will affect the country and the temperature can remain above the normal. People should note that temperature at day time in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, KPK, GB, AJK and Kashmir will remain 7 to 9 ᵒC above the normal temperature. This heatwave will also affect the temperature in Upper and Central Sindh, South Punjab and most parts of Baluchistan at day time will remain 6 to 8 ᵒC above the normal temperature.
