Punjab Schools and Colleges Receive Extended Winter Break
The Punjab government has officially extended winter vacations for schools and colleges across the province due to ongoing weather concerns and student safety. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that the decision follows recommendations from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority PDMA, which warned of a prolonged cold spell and extremely low temperatures in the coming week. Government Extends Holidays to Protect Students from Severe Cold
The minister stated that the extension is intended to safeguard students from harsh weather, with educational institutions now scheduled to reopen on January 19.
Recently, there had been rumors and speculation about changes to the winter vacation calendar on social media. The Education Department emphasized that all official announcements regarding school schedules are issued only through authorized government channels. Authorities have advised parents, students, and teachers to rely on verified information and avoid circulating unconfirmed reports.
The PDMA has also warned residents about severe cold, especially during night and early morning hours, prompting precautionary measures to ensure public safety throughout the province.
