Punjab Mines Labour Welfare Announces Scholarships 2025




The Mines Labour Welfare Commissioner, Government of Punjab, has introduced a scholarship program for the children of mine workers. This initiative aims to support students from primary education up to master’s degree programs. The selected students will receive a yearly stipend, as per the approved rates, to help them continue their education. Financial Assistance for Students from Primary to Master’s Level

Each family can apply for scholarships for a maximum of two children. The last date for submitting applications has been extended to November 15, 2025. Applications can be submitted at any of the Mines Labour Welfare offices located across various cities in Punjab.

Punjab Mines Labour Welfare Scholarship – Annual Stipend Structure

Eligible students will receive a yearly stipend according to their educational level:

  • Class 1 to 5: PKR 12,000
  • Class 6 to 8: PKR 15,000
  • Class 9 to 10: PKR 18,000
  • Class 11 to 12: PKR 24,000
  • Graduate BA/BSc/B.Com – Day Scholars: PKR 30,000
  • Graduate BA/BSc/B.Com – Boarders: PKR 40,000
  • Postgraduate / BS / BBA / Medical / Engineering – Day Scholars: PKR 60,000
  • Postgraduate / BS / BBA / Medical / Engineering – Boarders: PKR 80,000

Eligibility Criteria for the Mines Labour Welfare Commissioner Punjab Scholarship

To qualify for the scholarship, the miner or worker must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must qualify as a miner under the Mining Industrial and Commercial Employment Ordinance, 1968, be registered with EOBI, and have at least 3 years of service.

  2. No minimum employment duration is required for Categories 1, 2, and 3.

  3. Applicants not registered with EOBI must submit an affidavit attested by a Notary Public and the respective Assistant Mines Labour Welfare Commissioner.

  4. Children of deceased or disabled workers are also eligible.

  5. Students already enrolled in Mines Labour Welfare Organization or Punjab Workers Welfare Board schools are not eligible.

  6. Students currently receiving scholarships from the Workers Welfare Board cannot apply.

  7. Nursery and prep class students are ineligible.

  8. Retired miners receiving an EOBI pension are eligible.

Application Procedure for the Punjab Mines Labour Scholarship

  • Application forms can be obtained from Mines Labour offices located in Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Khushab, D.G. Khan, and Multan.
  • Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  • Applicants must submit the completed form along with required documents, including:

  1. Miner’s CNIC
  2. Worker’s Social Security Card or Old-Age Benefit Card
  3. Attested copy of firm card or appointment letter
  4. CNIC or Family Registration Certificate of the student issued by NADRA
  5. In case of a deceased or disabled worker, proof of death grant or disability pension must be attached

This initiative aims to promote educational opportunities and provide financial relief to families of mine workers across Punjab.
