Punjab Launches Crackdown on Bogus Student Admissions in Schools
Punjab Education Management Authority PIMA has initiated a comprehensive physical inspection campaign across schools in the province to tackle the issue of fake student enrollments and maintain reliable academic records. Province-Wide Verification Campaign to Ensure Accurate Enrollment Data
Officials stated that this verification drive will take place from May 4 to May 21. During this period, authorities will physically confirm the presence of students listed in school records. The primary objective of this initiative is to identify and remove false or non-existent enrollments, ensuring that the reported number of students reflects reality.
To strengthen this effort, PIMA has made it compulsory for schools to carry out student verification twice annually, specifically in May and October. The process will be conducted in accordance with the data available in the School Information System, enabling authorities to detect and address any inconsistencies.
Furthermore, all Assistant Education Officers AEOs and District Education Officers DEOs have been instructed to strictly enforce this verification process throughout Punjab. After the completion of the campaign, officials are required to submit comprehensive reports to the education department.
PIMA has also cautioned that strict disciplinary measures will be taken against institutions found involved in fake enrollments. This initiative is being seen as an important step toward enhancing transparency, accountability, and overall efficiency within the education system.
