Punjab & Islamabad Schools Implement Strict Security
In response to rising security concerns, authorities in Punjab and Islamabad have issued directives for educational institutions to implement enhanced safety measures. Schools and colleges are now required to adopt strict security protocols to protect students, staff, and visitors.
Key Measures Include:
- Controlled Access: Campuses must operate through a single main entrance, with all other gates closed. Entry points will feature bag checks, metal detectors, and security personnel.
- Physical Security: Institutions are instructed to strengthen boundary walls, install barbed wire, and enhance lighting to reduce blind spots.
- Digital Surveillance: High-resolution CCTV systems must operate 24/7, covering corridors, common areas, and perimeters.
- Identification Rules: Students, staff, and visitors are required to display ID cards at all times. Vehicles without authorized stickers are prohibited on campus.
- Emergency Preparedness: Schools must equip buildings with fire alarms, extinguishers, and conduct regular emergency drills. Security staff numbers will be increased proportionally to student populations.
The Federal Directorate of Education FDE has directed similar measures for all schools in Islamabad, ensuring uniform safety standards across the federal capital. Institutions are required to submit weekly security compliance reports, with administrative action possible for negligence.
Parents and education stakeholders have welcomed the steps, emphasizing that student safety must remain a priority. As these protocols take effect, campuses across Punjab and Islamabad are expected to operate with heightened vigilance and security awareness.
