Punjab Introduces Board Exams for Another Class




The Punjab government has officially decided to bring back board exams for eighth-grade students across the province. This decision was shared by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat during a recent meeting of the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority PECTA Board of Governors, as reported by a private news outlet. The students can get the latest updates of Punjab to Reintroduce Grade 8 Board Exams and Expand Educational Reforms.

New Assessment Strategies and Digital Initiatives Rolled Out by Education Minister

According to the minister, PECTA will now be responsible for conducting Grade 8 board exams, and a comprehensive action plan must be prepared within the next 30 days. Alongside this, he directed that internal assessment tests be introduced for students in Grades 5 through 7, with a transparent mechanism in place to evaluate both learners and educators.

The minister instructed that the framework for these assessments be finalized within a month.
In a move to promote digital learning, Rana Sikandar Hayat also revealed that the government is considering transforming the curriculum for Grades 9 and 11 Matric Tech stream into video lessons. The Academic Committee for Online Technical Education has been assigned the task of maintaining the quality of these educational videos.

Additionally, the minister emphasized the need for efficient printing and timely distribution of textbooks for the upcoming academic session. He made it clear that any delays would not be acceptable.

He also underscored the importance of reducing middle school out rates and called for improved teacher training programs, taking into account previous performance metrics.
