Punjab Introduces Assessment Based System to Replace Board Exams
Punjab School Education Department has announced a major reform by replacing conventional board examinations with a newly designed assessment test for students. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that this initiative aims to enhance academic results for grades nine and ten, while also reinforcing core learning skills from early education stages. New Evaluation Approach for School Students in Punjab
The grade eight assessment will be conducted by PECTA, which will issue comprehensive exam guidelines within the next 20 days. Initially, the system will be implemented in government schools, whereas private schools will have the option to either adopt the assessment or continue with board exams, starting from the upcoming February or March session.
