Punjab Imposes Heavy Fines on Schools Opening Earlier
The Punjab government has introduced strict winter regulations for school operating hours, setting heavy fines for institutions that open before 8:45 AM. As reported by news channel, both government and private schools that disobey these instructions could face penalties reaching up to Rs. 500,000. Revised Winter Schedule for Schools Across Punjab
These updated winter school timings will be effective from November 3, 2025, until January 31, 2026, under the province’s winter schedule adjustment. According to the new plan, schools with a single shift will function from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, while Friday classes will conclude earlier at 12:30 PM.
For schools operating in double shifts, the morning schedule will mirror that of single-shift institutions — 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM Monday to Thursday and 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays. The second shift will commence at 1:00 PM and close at 4:00 PM during the week, with Friday’s afternoon session running from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
