Punjab Grants New Eligibility for Teachers with Commerce Degrees
School Education Department has introduced an important update for teachers holding commerce degrees. Under a new policy, educators with a Master’s in Commerce M.Com will now be eligible for promotions. M.Com Recognized as Equivalent to MBA and Other Degrees
A newly formed committee tasked with determining academic equivalence has made a significant decision: the M.Com degree will be considered equivalent to an MBA. Furthermore, it will also be recognized as equivalent to B.Com Honors and BS Commerce, acknowledging it as a 16-year degree.
Policy Implementation and Impact on Promotions
This new policy will apply to teachers seeking promotions in schools throughout Punjab. The policy will officially come into effect starting December 5, 2024, offering enhanced opportunities for professional growth for teachers with an M.Com degree.
