Punjab Govt Issues Special School Schedule for Ramadan
The Government of Punjab has introduced new school hours for the month of Ramadan to accommodate students and teachers who are observing the fast. The updated timetable was shared through an official notice released by the School Education Department on February 16. According to the announcement, all public and private schools across the province will follow modified timings during the holy month. Revised Timings Announced for All Educational Institutions
Under the new arrangement, single-shift schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will conclude earlier at 12:30 PM. For institutions running in two shifts, the morning session will be held from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Monday and Thursday. The afternoon session on these days will continue from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. However, on Fridays, the second shift will start at 2:30 PM and end at 5:00 PM.
Additionally, the notification clarifies that girls’ schools will begin and finish their school day 15 minutes earlier than the stated schedule. These temporary changes will remain effective throughout Ramadan to ensure ease and comfort for both students and school staff.
