Punjab Govt Increases Monthly School Fees Across Punjab

Punjab Govt Increases Monthly School Fees Across Punjab

Punjab Education Foundation PEF has declared an upward revision of the monthly per child fee for schools affiliated with its programs, including the Foundation-Assisted Schools FAS, Education Voucher Scheme EVS, and New School Program NSP. The new fee schedule will come into effect in September 2025 across all partner institutions. The students can get latest updates of Punjab Announces Revised Monthly Fees for PEF Partner Schools.

Justification for the Fee Hike

In its official circular, PEF highlighted that rising inflation, increased teacher salaries, and higher classroom operational costs have placed significant financial strain on partner schools. To preserve the quality of education and support these institutions, the foundation has decided to raise the per-child fee for all grade levels.

Updated Fee Schedule by Grade

  • Nursery to Class II: Rs. 800
  • Class III to V: Rs. 900
  • Class VI to VIII: Rs. 1,100
  • Class IX to X Arts Group: Rs. 1,400
  • Class IX to X Science Group: Rs. 1,800
  • Intermediate Arts Group: Rs. 2,000
  • Intermediate Science Group: Rs. 2,200

Teacher Honorariums and Implementation Guidelines

PEF has instructed all partner schools not only to apply the new per-child fee structure but also to increase teacher honorariums proportionately. This measure is aimed at reducing the financial burden on schools and ensuring fair compensation for staff.

Ensuring Quality Education Despite Economic Challenges

With this revision, schools under the PEF network are expected to strengthen their financial stability while continuing to deliver free or subsidized education to thousands of low-income families in Punjab. The foundation emphasized that this step is crucial to maintaining quality learning outcomes in the face of rising costs.
