Punjab Government to Reward Top 100 Schools with Rs 100 Million
The Punjab government has unveiled a cash prize of Rs. 100 million to recognize the top 100 schools showing exceptional performance across the province’s 36 districts. Each selected institution will receive Rs. 1 million as a reward for achieving excellence in various areas of education. Rs. 1 Million Incentive for Each High-Performing School Across the Province
Both Punjab Education Foundation PEF and Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority PEIMA schools, which operate under government outsourcing, are also eligible for this incentive. An independent third-party evaluation will assess schools based on factors such as academic outcomes, infrastructure quality, classroom environment, and access to basic facilities.
The awarded amount may be utilized by school principals for institutional development and student welfare.
Meanwhile, the government has temporarily paused the third phase of the school outsourcing initiative. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that the process has been halted for two months to ensure that Phase 2 schools achieve operational stability. He further mentioned that the third phase, originally planned for October 5, 2025, will resume only after the smooth functioning of the previously outsourced schools is confirmed.
