Punjab Education Minister Confirms Schools Will Remain Open
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has clarified that schools throughout the province will continue to operate according to the existing academic schedule, dismissing rumors about potential closures or a shift to online learning. In his statement, the minister emphasized that both public and private schools in Punjab will function normally and that there are no plans to suspend in-person classes at any stage. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the academic calendar is completed without any interruptions. No School Closures or Online Classes This Year
“Schools are open as scheduled. There will be no closures and no online classes. All public and private schools remain operational,” the minister stated.
This announcement comes in response to circulating reports suggesting that the federal government might implement certain fuel conservation measures due to disruptions in oil supply caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. A cabinet committee, which is monitoring petroleum prices, has recently finalized a national action plan in consultation with provincial authorities to manage the situation. The plan is set to be submitted to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif before being reviewed and approved by the Economic Coordination Committee ECC.
