Punjab Education Foundation Introduces Saturday Holiday
The Punjab Education Foundation PEF has introduced a new policy allowing all partner schools to remain closed on Saturdays, a day they previously observed as a regular school day. Along with the new weekly schedule, PEF has also updated school timings. Classes will now be held from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm, while on Fridays, schools will close at 12:30 pm. These revised timings will stay in effect until April 15, 2026.
Revised School Timings and Recent Developments Announced by PEF
In a separate development, PEF recently initiated a major recruitment drive, offering more than 100 positions across multiple departments. The list of vacancies includes eight Subject Specialist roles in key subjects, as well as opportunities for Network Support Engineers and Executive Assistants. The foundation has also announced 10 Driver posts, each carrying a monthly salary of Rs. 57,500.

Meanwhile, several private schools in Punjab have faced criticism for disregarding government directives that ban outdoor activities due to worsening smog conditions. Despite province-wide restrictions, some schools reportedly continued to organize student trips to places such as Joyland, Jallo Park, Safari Park, and the Lahore Zoo.
