Punjab Declares Public Holidays on 25th and 26th December 2025
The Punjab government has officially announced two consecutive public holidays in December 2025. December 25 will be observed nationwide as Quaid-e-Azam Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Pakistans founding father, Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Following this, December 26 has been declared a public holiday for the Christian community to celebrate Boxing Day.
The announcement was made through an official notification, ensuring that all government offices, institutions, and organizations across the province are informed in advance. Essential services, however, will continue to operate as usual.
Details of the Holidays
- December 25, 2025 – Quaid-e-Azam Day: A province-wide holiday to honor the founder of Pakistan.
- December 26, 2025 – Boxing Day: A special holiday for Christian employees and communities to celebrate the occasion following Christmas.
The notifications align with similar declarations by the Sindh government, which also recognized December 25 as a public holiday for all and December 26 for Christian community members specifically.
These holidays provide an opportunity for citizens to celebrate religious and national events while government departments ensure the uninterrupted functioning of essential services.
