Punjab Curriculum Board Launches 11th Class New Urdu Textbook
The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board PCTB has released a newly revised Urdu textbook for Intermediate Part-I 11th Grade for the academic year 2025. This development is part of a broader curriculum update led by the Punjab Education Curriculum and Assessment Authority PECAA, which includes changes across major subjects such as Urdu, English, Islamic Studies, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science.
The updated Urdu textbook, tailored to the new educational standards, has been authored by a distinguished panel of writers including Dr. Khawar Nawazish, Tariq Habib, Professor Zafar-ul-Haq Chishti, Tahir Siddiqui, and Hannan Mahmood. The book is available in 27,000 copies, each priced at Rs. 151, and is now officially part of the Intermediate Urdu syllabus.
Students enrolled in Grade 9 and Grade 11 will study under the newly introduced syllabus. This change reflects Punjabs ongoing commitment to modernizing education and ensuring alignment with contemporary linguistic and academic standards.
To support learners further, Professor Naseer Bashir of Dial Singh College has authored a corresponding guidebook titled "Gohar Urdu", which fully aligns with the new curriculum. This guide aims to simplify difficult topics and enhance understanding for both students and teachers.
With the launch of this updated textbook, Punjab continues its progress toward quality education and updated pedagogy in public schools.
